LISTENING TO -- 'compression of time' from ff viii
    FEELING -- confused

Yeah, I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but I've got a question to ask.

Anyone here have the following phone number:

315-489-9728

I know it's a New York number - I looked up the area code earlier. I just don't know who it is. But I get the feeling that it's someone I know, seeing as they called my cell phone four times on January 2nd.

And, if it is someone I know, I'd like to be able to call back and be all like, "Hey, man. What's up?" Instead of calling the number and going, "Who is this?"

So, uh, yeah.

LISTENING TO -- 'legend' from secret of mana
FEELING -- like crap on a stick

Well, Otakon this year sucked.

I didn't get to see Marie. We got lost like four times on the way up there. And I got sick on Saturday night, so we went home at like 6-ish. And I'm still sick. With strep throat. And it sucks, because I can't swallow without wincing, and I'm even taking antibiotics and stuff, so I shouldn't feel so shitty. But I do.

Mreh. I think I'm going back to bed now.

LISTENING TO -- 'he's a pirate' from pirates of the caribbean
    FEELING -- bouncy

Note to self.

After cashing check on Tuesday, buy a copy of Adobe Photoshop and learn to use it. After said learning period, hunt down a slew of spiffy Captain Barbossa pictures. Proceed to take vote on spiffiest one. Then, make self a spiffy blog layout to match the lovely Jack Sparrow layout Ang made for TGH.net.

....

PS - Find some way to convince Ang or Marie to write PotC fanfiction with you. Find way to include Barbossa in said fanfiction.

That is all.

LISTENING TO -- 'bachelorette' by bjork
    FEELING -- headachy

I finally saw PotC Monday night. And it's kinda funny, cause I swore that I wouldn't let myself become a Jack Sparrow fangirl, cause everyone else was all like, "<3 Jack Sparrow," and guess what?

I'm a Jack Sparrow fangirl.

Not that I'm complaining, though.

Anyway, I had this awesome idea for a PotC fanfiction, but I don't think I'm gonna talk about it. Cause I've realized that when I spill my fic ideas, I usually loose the will to write them. It's strange, but true. So, I figure if I don't say anything, it'll get written eventually.

Now all I have to do is find the time to put the pen to the paper. Or the fingers to the keyboard, as it were.

Funny thing is, though, I really want to write Jack Sparrow, right? But I also really want to work on this fic with someone else. And I know that if I ask anyone else to work with me, I'll loose the oppertunity to write Jack, cause it seems that all of my friends ended up getting stuck with Sparrow, writing-wise.

Mreh.

Dilemmas suck.

LISTENING TO -- 'the kids aren't alright' by the offspring
    FEELING -- blah

As bizarre as this is going to sound, you know what I want? I want this layout back. Or something similar. Cause it rocked muchly, and seeing as how Ed's made a resurgance. Well, yeah.

Mreh.

LISTENING TO -- 'golden age of grotesque' by marilyn manson
    FEELING -- sick

I really should appologize for not posting anything here for awhile. I really haven't had anything to talk about.

So does that mean I have something interesting to say right now? No. I don't. My schedual's been pretty much the same boring routine since I posted here last. I get up, I go to work, I come home, I work on Anomalies with Ang until I'm too tired to write anymore, and I go to bed. And I wake up the next morning and do the same thing.

Boring, right? Right.

But I think I might do a little more ranting about Cowboy Bebop while I'm here.

I got the movie last night. I had it on preorder, and I picked it up before work. I watched it when I got home. And the first thing that I noticed, which I was highly impressed by was the fact that they used the same American VAs for the movie. And seeing as how CB is the only dub I prefer to the original Japanese version, I was estatic. Beyond that, the movie was excellent. I liked the animation a lot, espeically some of the angles they chose to use in certain scenes. I know I'm not an art expert, I know what I liked. And I liked that.

I also liked the fact that they did short little interviews with each of the VAs, both Japanese and English, in the extras. I think it's amusing that you can hear each VA's character in their normal voices. Like when Spike's English VA said certain things, I could've sworn it was Spike speaking. True, that's to be expected, but it's still interesting. How each of them can talk and sound so like and yet so different from their characters. It's facinating. And it makes me remember how badly I'd love to do voice-overs.

Eh, oh well.

Might have to rewatch the series. Yes.

Movie rocked. Art rocked. And the fact that Ang sent me Neo sunglasses rocks, too.

And speaking of Ang, three or so days until I go and visit her. I can't wait.

^_^

LISTENING TO -- 'the real folk blues' from cowboy bebop
    FEELING -- exhausted

Maaaaaan.

I am on such a Cowboy Bebop kick.

I went out and bought the entire anime over the last two weeks, and I sat down and watched each DVD as I got them. And that was about a week ago, right? Then last night I had this crazy dream set after the end of the series, where I saw everything from Jet's POV. I don't remember what it was about, but damn. Ever since I woke up, I've been in a Bebop mood. And I mean seriously.

So seriously that I plotted out a trilogy of fanfictions set two or three years after the series.

I even had titles for them.

The first one was 'Wedding Bell Boogie Woogie', the second was 'Return of Edward', and the final one was 'Ghosts of the Past'.

Heh... it's kind of amusing, because I had serious plots for all of them too. In 'Wedding Bell Boogie Woogie', Jet won some kind of random contest that, to be entered, all you had to do was use the Gates on a regular basis. So, he won a trip for two to Neptune, which for purposes of the fic was a big spa resort planet thing. But Faye wanted to go too, right? And the scene went something like:

Faye: Ooh. You won tickets to Neptune. Two tickets. You know a delicate lady such as myself could use a trip to the spa; take me?
Jet: No. Don't destroy the ship while I'm on vacation. ::leaves::
Faye: Fine. >.< ::plots to follow::

Anyway, she manages to catch up to him, but before she does she overhears part of a conversation. From the way it sounds, there's a guy posing as a priest running around killing married couples at their weddings. And there's a pretty big bounty on his head. So, Faye catches up to Jet, tells him this, and then manages, somehow, to convince him that if the two of them posed as a to-be married couple, and threw together a ceremony, they could nail this guy. So the two of them take a walk down the aisle, and after the whole, 'I now pronounce you man and wife' bit, the attack the priest. Only to find out that he's no outlaw. And that there's no bounty. What Faye overheard was two seperate conversations, one about a 'killer' wedding, and then a subject change to talk about bounty hunting. So now Faye and Jet are truly, legally married, and seeing as they have to pay for the charges of the ceremony and for what damage they caused, they can't afford a divorce.

'Return of Edward' had to do with what it sounded like. Ed and Ein coming back to the Bebop. I actually hadn't come up with much of a plot to this one, but I know that I wanted it to end with the two of the leaving again. They'd stay in touch with the Bebop as an outward bounty information source, but as always, Ed has her own agenda.

And the big one, 'Ghosts of the Pasts' was the first of these three fic ideas I had. Basically, in this one, Faye had come back from hunting a bounty head with no luck. In fact, the first scene started with her bitching about loosing him over the comm system to Jet. Jet, as always, is like whatever, and tells her to get back as quick as she can, because Ed's patching through data about a new bounty. Apparently, there's a guy on Mars who's killed over a hundred people by 'Ghosting'. No one knows exactly what Ghosting is, but everyone who can give testimony says that it has something to do with computers. Ed suggests that maybe it's something like Scratch, and the Bebop crew heads to Mars.

But, just before they get there, a transmission comes through on Spike's old private line. Both Faye and Jet are wary to answer it, but they do, and on the other end, in very shaky visual, is Spike Spiegal. He proceeds to tell them to meet him in the usual place, and before either can answer, he kills the transmission. For a moment both Jet and Faye are confused as to where the 'usual' place is, and then it hits them - one of the planet's local bars. A little frustration later, and our two skeptical heros run into a very alive Spike. Apparently what was left of the crumbling syndicate took him in and nursed him back to health, and once again he's ready to come back to bounty hunting. So, Spike rejoins the crew of the Bebop, and they continue their hunt for their currently target.

Near the end of the episode - this is getting kinda long, so maybe it'll be a two parter? - Spike asks Faye to dinner. Faye, who I'm convinced had a thing for Spike, accepts and the two of them dine out. Something happens to draw Spike away for a moment or two, and at that time, Jet calls. He asks if Spike's around. Faye says no, and asks if he's jealous. Jet says no, but he's concerned. Faye asks why, but before she can answer, Spike attacks her. There's a fight, and it turns out that Spike was really an andriod replica of the real Spike - who is sadly still dead.

Jet shows up, there's some fighting, and finally the fake Spike is killed. Apparently, that's what Ghosting is - the bounty head, who never gets caught, has been impersonating dead people with great accuracy to get close to and kill people. Anyway, Jet and a very upset Faye return to the Bebop, and Faye asks Jet how he knew. And it's because throughout the episode, Spike has been acting slightly OOC. Like Jet hasn't seen him smoke one cigarette the entire time he's been back. And his eyes, which are normally one dark brown, one light almost red brown - cause it's fake - seem to be both light brown. And finally, the dinner invitation to Faye. As Jet puts it, "There's only one woman in this world Spike could've loved." And that's Julia.

As the story closes, Faye asks Jet what about him. Meaning, is he like Spike, is there only one woman he could've loved. Jet tells Faye, yes. That it's her. And, as a traditional Cowboy Bebop episode would end, we're left without seeing Faye's reaction, but instead with a '...see you Space Cowboy...'

Woo.

I'm not a fan of Jaye (that's the Jet/Faye pairing), and I know it's not cannon, but for some reason, these fic ideas just wrote themselves as such. I mean, it started out with Jet and Faye getting married as some kind of sick joke on the two of them, but the more I plotted each story, the more it started to lean in that direction. And the more it made sense. I mean, if you think about it, if we're talking three years after the series, with both Spike and Ed gone, and only Jet and Faye left on the Bebop, they're bound to develop some kind of dependancy on each other. Certianlly not romantic at first, but it'd definately be a need for one to see and interact with the other. And once that dependancy has been forged, it's just a hop, skip, and a jump to romantic feelings. Hell, my ex-boss lived with her husband just as friends for awhile, but after three years, he was asking her to marry him.

So yeah, I could see it happening.

... ...Even if I feel bad now for saying that it is gonna be a Jaye, since that's not true to the cannon.

Mreh. Oh well.

...see you Space Cowboy... ^_-
